It seemed as though Jovan Belchar had everything to live for: he was a professional football player, he was in what seemed to be a happy relationship with the mother of his child, and he had recently became a father. His life seemed full of promise so with all of this goung for him why did he decide to murder his girlfriend and then take his own life?
As more is revealed about the life of Jovan Belchar we learn that all that seemed to be good wasn't. He was experiencing like all of us personal problems.
Many have come forth and speculated that the reason for his unexplainable behavior had something to do with his career as a professional football player and being subject to repeated head injuries. It would seem logical to hold this view because of so many instances recently of football players doing similiar things.
But I would say there is a better explaination for his actions. No matter who you are, when you let: anger, rage, jealousy and despair overtake your spirit anyone of us could commit these very same acts.
This was a tragic end for the lives of two young people. And it didn't have to be, if only Jovan wouldn't have given into the spirits of: anger, rage, jealousy and despair, him and his girlfriend would be alive today.
So my message is to anyone who is going through a difficult period in your life, when you feel overwhelmed by any situation turn to the Lord for help and guidance, don't give into the enemy's plan of destruction.
