Are You Prepared For The Storm?

The perfect storm seems to be headed towards the mid altantic states and officials are trying to get the word out to the public.  They are advising the public to be prepared for this dangerous storm.

 

Just like we should be prepared for bad weather, we should also prepare for the storms that enter each and everyone of our lives that have nothing to do with the weather.

 

The storms of: disappoinment, fear,  dispair, pain, loss, and grief can be more devasting than any weather event.  How do we prepare for these kinds of storms?  Just like a home with a strong foundation can bear the storms of nature, if Jesus is our foundation we can bear the storms this life will surely bring.

In the book of Matthew Chapter 7 Jesus tells us: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell: and great was the fall.

 

If you are experiencing a personal storm in your life right now and you don't know where to turn, pray and ask Jesus to come into your life and make him the foundation of your life.  When you do this he will sustain you through any storm.
